Self portrait at Montacute House in Somerset, UK. A beautiful Elizabethan mansion with extensive gardens, built in 1598 by Sir Edward Phelips. As chief prosecutor of the gunpowder plot, he was a highly valued official of the British government.
In more recent times it has been employed as a backdrop for several episodes of the BBC dramatisation of Hilary Mantel's novel "Wolf Hall".
