Montacute House in Somerset, England on a beautiful sunny January day. Owned and managed by the National Trust and considered a masterpiece of Elizabethan Renaissance architecture and design, a beautiful mansion house with extensive gardens, built in 1598 by Sir Edward Phelips. As chief prosecutor of the gunpowder plot, he was a highly valued official of the British government. In more recent times it has been the backdrop for several episodes of the BBC dramatisation of Hilary Mantel's novel "Wolf Hall".
