Porcelain Muybridge VI
£1,095.00
Porcelain Muybridge VI - For a brief period, the work turned toward repetition and subtle variation of a single pose. These incremental shifts began to echo the motion studies of Eadweard Muybridge, while also recalling the pared-down, rhythmic walking figures of Julian Opie.
From the series "Cinematic Conversations" in which the subject is free to do as they wish. The photographer offers gentle direction — guiding poses, suggesting pauses, asking the sitter to remain still, or to shift ever so slightly. Expressions are proposed rather than imposed: boredom, fatigue, detachment. Each suggestion subtly alters the presence of the sitter, revealing how mood alone can transform an image. Roles are hinted at, never named; the subject interprets, absorbs and reflects them in their own way.
