Maintenon
£75.00
Through a distorted vintage window, a view unfolds. It is morning at the end of summer - the full green foliage of a small, lush forest embracing a charming building below. Like a folly, yet clearly something more. The window belongs to an upper floor of the Château de Maintenon in northern France, once home to Françoise d’Aubigné, Madame de Maintenon, second wife of King Louis XIV. The Palace of Versailles lies just thirty-five miles away.
