Remington
£135.00
A graphic black-and-white study of a classic typewriter — a design masterpiece by Remington Rand. This particular model, a KMC, circa 1947, appears understated in a gun-metal brown-grey tone. Its smooth curves and elegant structure give it a refined presence without excess bulk. Remington typewriters were among the first to adopt the QWERTY keyboard layout developed by Christopher Sholes, a design that would go on to dominate modern typing. The Remington brand would later expand beyond typewriters into firearms — most famously the Colt M1911 pistol — before eventually entering the early computer age with the groundbreaking UNIVAC I.
Many will also remember the brand from television advertising, particularly the electric razor campaigns fronted by Victor Kiam.
