An early morning photograph of Petit Bé in Saint-Malo, Brittany, north western France. The Fort was built in 1689 primarily as part of a defence system against the British and Dutch fleets. Saint-Malo is a walled, port city, perhaps best known for its Privateers (Pirates approved by the King) from the middle ages onwards.
