The Erasmus Bridge spans the Nieuwe Maas near the vast expanse of the Port of Rotterdam. Designed by amongst others, Ben van Berkel of UNStudio, this sun-bleached, pale yellow rendition captures the bridge’s dynamic, graphic form set against the sharp lines of newly built commercial and residential towers. The composition leans into contrast and reduction—architecture distilled into shape, tone, and rhythm—where the bridge’s sweeping pylon cuts cleanly through a softened urban backdrop, both monumental and quietly abstract.
