The Cauldron of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games makes an unexpected return in 2026, proudly situated once again at the eastern end of the Tuileries.

Removed from its original context, it takes on an almost surreal quality. Set against an expansive sky, the enormous golden sphere appears to float effortlessly above the gardens, held in place only by the slender structure beneath it. The image becomes an exercise in negative space — the emptiness around the object giving it a sense of weightlessness and tension.

There is something almost absurdly simple about the composition: a great golden ball seemingly determined to escape into the sky, restrained, for now, by the structure that anchors it to the earth.
