Montacute House in Somerset, UK. A beautiful Elizabethan Renaissance mansion with extensive gardens, this particular one leads to The Avenue. It was completed in 1601 by Sir Edward Phelips. As chief prosecutor of the Gunpowder plot (Guy Fawkes 1606), he was a highly valued official of the British government.
In more recent times it has been the backdrop for several episodes of the BBC dramatisation of Hilary Mantel's novel "Wolf Hall".
