Orléans Cathedral

A dark brooding rendering of the magnificent facade of Orléans Cathedral, France - Cathédrale Sainte-Croix d'Orléans - A true gothic masterpiece. Originally built between 1278 - 1329 it suffered some destruction by the Huguenots in 1568 but was restored to its former glory in later years.
Orléans is, as ever, still associated with Joan of Arc who frequently visited this Roman Catholic church.
