Porcelain XXV - Double Silhouette - Red Blue
£495.00
Porcelain XXV — Double Silhouette - Red Blue.
Two colour studies examining the sculptural qualities of the human form — its shape, texture and tone, and the shifting dialogue between light and shadow. Here, the figure is reduced almost entirely to silhouette, with the human form becoming an architectural shape against fields of primary colour. The same pose is presented twice, yet the change from warm pink to cool blue transforms the mood and presence of the sitter.
From the series Cinematic Conversations, in which the subject is free to inhabit the image in their own way. The photographer offers gentle direction — guiding poses, suggesting pauses, asking the sitter to remain still or to shift ever so slightly. Expressions are proposed rather than imposed: boredom, fatigue, detachment. Each suggestion subtly alters the presence of the sitter, demonstrating how little needs to change for an image to feel entirely different.
Roles are hinted at, never named. The subject interprets, absorbs and reflects them in their own way. Here, through repetition, silhouette and colour, that quiet exchange becomes the subject itself.
