1st August 2026. Low tide. The moon still hangs in the sky while the sun rises somewhere behind me. An early walk across the strange, ever-changing landscape of the Wittering shoreline — a place that seems to recreate its own world twice a day.

As has happened before, my thoughts return to 1977 and Star Wars: Luke Skywalker standing beneath the twin suns of Tatooine. Here, the moon becomes my second sun, and I deliberately position myself to cast an appropriately elongated shadow across the sand.
