A colour photograph of the Cyclopean Islands near Catania in Sicily. They are made up of volcanic rock and formed an estimated 500,000 years ago.
They have a very unusual presence as evident here, as if communicating with each other. Their existence has inspired curiosity and awe for centuries and they even get a mention in Homer's Odyssey.
