The Outliers, Venice. Heading east from Piazza San Marco on a cold February afternoon, the light begins to fade and a familiar Venetian fog settles into the air. As the path approaches the Giardini della Biennale, it widens and empties, the usual rhythm of the city falling away into something quieter, more uncertain. Space opens. Presence thins.

Here, two Venetian lamps stand apart — classical in form, isolated in placement — like sentinels at the edge of something undefined, quietly assuming the role of outliers.
