Church of Our Saviour II, Copenhagen
£75.00
Church of Our Saviour (Vor Frelsers Kirke) – Copenhagen’s Spiraling Baroque Masterpiece. Rising gracefully above the Christianshavn district, Church of Our Saviour is one of Copenhagen’s most striking landmarks. Built between 1682 and 1695 in the Dutch Baroque style, the church’s elegant yet austere façade conceals a truly unique treasure - the spiral spire that crowns it. This golden, corkscrew-like tower was a later addition, completed in 1752 by architect Lauritz de Thurah, more than fifty years after the church itself was finished. Its design was inspired by Italian Baroque architecture and winds counterclockwise, an unusual feature that has long fascinated locals and visitors alike.Limited Edition Archival Inkjet Giclée Print.
